Buying a used car can be exciting. But what do you do if, when you get home, you realize the car is not right for you? In Texas, there are no laws guaranteeing a general right to return a used vehicle.
Most used cars are sold “as-is,” which means you as the buyer accept the vehicle in its current condition without any warranties. Unless the dealership makes specific guarantees about the car’s condition, you cannot typically return it because of defects. Many used car dealerships have their own return or exchange policies, but this is at their discretion and not required by law.
